Tyler played his first game in the adult league in Lincoln today. It was a beautiful spring day and a perfect day to watch soccer. Mom and dad came and they enjoyed watching their son-in-law play for the first time. I really admire my husband for going out there, playing with guys he doesn't know, and giving it his all. Even though he jokingly says he is "all washed up," that is not true. He scored two goals and used his leadership abilities on and off the field. I love you my soccer man!
Author change :-). Hey y'all! It's tyler now. What Dene' did not mention is that we got lost on the way to the game. It reminded me of the good ol' days of club soccer when mom, dad, and I would consistently get lost on the way to soccer tournaments. Of course, I rarely missed the first half of a game as I almost did today. We almost made it in time...that is until we pulled into a youth soccer complex we thought was the right place, only to get stuck in a mob of minivans trying to depart the park. The traffic was moving so slowly that I even had enough time to hop out of our minivan and use the bathroom...in a port o' potty of course (that's the first time I've ever typed that one out, it was fun). I was feeling rebellious and I didn't even lock the door. Nevertheless, we finally got to the park. It was such a blessing to have my beautiful wife and my in-laws come to the game. It was a perfect day.
