Past Sporting Adventures

The Memphis Tigers won today, which means the Rosser household is a happy one, until at least Saturday when the Tigers play Michigan State in the third round of the NCAA tournament. Did you know Tyler was a Memphis basketball fan? Last night he asked me if I thought he was a bigger fan of the Memphis Tigers or Notre Dame Football. After thinking very carefully for a minute, I told him you can't compare the two sports because he loves them both equally.

We are in the prime time of March Madness and it reminds me that I have been meaning to write about our trip to Notre Dame last November, and since then (believe it or not) Tyler and I have gone on a few more sporting adventures, so I thought I'd write about all of them at once.

There are many pros to being married to an avid sports fan (we won't worry about the cons right now) and besides the countless games we watch at home, we have had the opportunity to go to several games in person.

This past November we went to the Notre Dame vs. Wake Forest Game (if you recall, this was their second to last game in the regular season and it was also the night that Kansas State lost to Baylor and Oregon lost to Stanford which meant Notre Dame became number 1, needless to say the best sports day ever. Are you impressed with my knowledge? I am!)

We had watched the movie Rudy a few weeks before going to the game and it was really fun to be there in person. The campus is beautiful and I was quite taken at all the tailgating! It is quite the production for lots of people and Tyler and I have now added to our dream list to own a RV and tailgate at several college football games!
We had a wonderful time at the game and even though Notre Dame lost against Alabama in the National Championship, they had quite the season and let's just say I had a happy husband throughout the couple months thanks to Notre Dame's winning record!

Over Christmas break Tyler and I went to Dallas, Texas with his parents to celebrate Grandmother's 90th birthday party.

Right by our hotel was the stadium for the Dallas Sidekicks professional indoor soccer team. There happened to be a home game the night we were there.
I had never been to an indoor soccer game before and it was a mix between a hockey game and a regular soccer game. One of the players for the Sidekicks went to school with Tyler in the third grade when the Rosser's lived in Dallas.

Back in Montgomery over January we went to the All-Star football game sponsored by Tyler's dad's work, Raycom Media. It was kind of a boring game, but a lot of fun to be there and try to spot players that we knew from various teams!
I don't think we have any specific plans for sporting events in the near future, but somehow the opportunity always seems to pop up and we go! And don't worry about me, I have enough college basketball in the next few weeks to last me...quite some time!
