Baptism Anniversary

We celebrated James' 2nd baptism anniversary! The baptism candle was a hit this year and we lit it several times during the day. James enjoyed reading his baptism book and kept saying "church" at each page. He isn't much of a sweets guy...I think daddy and I enjoyed the cupcake more than he did! We love you James!

Summer Adventures: Part 5

Who knew it would be such a lively summer? Our summer adventures end with Tyler, John and I taking a much needed vacation to celebrate out six year wedding anniversary. We went to one of our favorite places, Ave Maria, FL.
Oratory at Ave Maria

This place is full of memories! My visits when Tyler was in school; the place where we got engaged; where Tyler bought my engagement ring; Tyler's first coaching experience; our first place we lived when we were married; and two FOCUS summer trainings!

Tyler's parents were so gracious to watch James for a week so Tyler and I could have some rest and special time with John! We decided we need to do this every time we have a new baby--it was such a gift to have time to focus on John and enjoy him!
We enjoyed visiting our favorite places in Ave and Naples and eating some delicious seafood. We would start each day with breakfast at The Bean in Ave and they even had gluten-free wraps for Tyler so he could still enjoy the favorite Breakfast Burritos!
Dinner at the Dock at Crayton Cove
John was the perfect age for a stress-free vacation. He was content to sleep and eat anywhere and kept us great company!
Dinner at Swan Seafood
We had a short visit from our friends, Andy and Jenny and their kids. It was very special to see them as they are John's Godparents and they hadn't met him yet!

Overall we had a wonderful week and are already planning our next vacation!

Happy Birthday James!

We had the joyful celebration of our little buddy's 2nd birthday! We went bowling and then were joined by Grand Daddy and Grand Mommy for dinner and cake.
We all had a blast bowling. James loves every sport so far and this was a new one! It was fun to watch him and daddy bowl!

After our traditional birthday dinner of Mexican, Grand Mommy brought out the cake.

He looks a little bigger than last year! Haha! And a lot more hair!

James is still loving life! For the most part he is a very happy boy that is full of laughter and sometimes mischievous ideas! He'll get what we call the "Rosser smirk" when he is about to do something he knows we'll react to.
One of the Rosser smirks!

From the youngest age he's been interested in practical activities and helping around the house. In the beginning it was easy to have him "help" me do laundry and vacuum. Now, it takes me 30 minutes to do a 5 minute job, haha! But he is actually a help and I don't want him to lose that desire.
Here is he helping me clean the windows and hang our door signs. One of the most recent adventures is making breakfast every morning. James enjoys standing in his stool by the counter and helping me make pancakes or eggs. He cracks the eggs all by himself and is very adamant about stirring: "roundround" as he calls it.

Speaking about words, we hear new ones every day! It is such a joyful time to hear him experiment with words and repeat words that we say. His language is definitely exploding!

As is his love for golf. One of his birthday presents was a golf set and this is his new favorite sport. "Boom Boom" as he calls it.

We are so thankful for you James! We love you!
