Food Truck Night

Last Friday we went to a Food Truck night in our town and sampled some delicious food! Neither of us have eaten from a food truck before and it was a fun experience.
We got a hamburger with crispy cheese and bacon blue cheese loaded fries

The weather was beautiful for a Florida fall evening (in the 70's without much humidity) and we look forward to going back to try different food trucks!

James's First Visit to Lincoln

Last week James and I traveled to Lincoln to visit mom and dad while Tyler was in Denver for a training. Our reason for being in Lincoln was twofold: to spend time with mom and dad and to help them out while dad recovered from his hip surgery. (You can read my dad's Top Five Reasons to Have a Hip Replacement here.) It was such a blessing to have the time with them and I also really enjoyed a taste of fall. Fall in Nebraska is beautiful and it was a treat to see the leaves changing and enjoy the cooler weather. We're still getting through the hot and humid days in Florida (although I can tell cooler weather is coming because there is a nice breeze in the morning and evening!)
Leaves changing in Lincoln
We are so thankful that dad's surgery went well. Mom, James, and I enjoyed visiting him in the hospital.
I enjoyed dressing James in warm weather clothes. I think he looked so cute in long sleeves and pants!
It's such a joy to watch mom and dad with James. He got some good cuddles with both of them and since they know James likes his alone time on the floor they made a mobile for him! It entertained him for quite some time.

We miss them already and can't wait to come back for Thanksgiving!

Octahedron Mobile Videos

It's been fun to observe James in his room with his Octahedron mobile. Here are two videos showing how he's taking more of an interest in looking at the mobile now. Sometimes I'll turn the fan on and that will move the pieces and other times he'll accidentally hit one of the pieces with his fist and watch it move.

Here is James at 8 weeks:

Here is James at 10 weeks:

Showers of Blessings: {five}

Sorry it's been a few weeks since I've blogged! Our computer charger broke so we ordered a new one and with all of us traveling last week blogging took a back seat. Thankfully Tyler let me borrow his work computer so I could catch up on blogging.

As for our many blessings, here are a few of the top ones from the past few weeks!

-one-
Last week Tyler traveled to Denver for a training and James and I flew to Lincoln to visit mom and dad. It was a blessing to be home and see mom and dad, especially to keep them company during dad's recovery from his hip surgery. James did a great job on his first trip flying. This deserves it's own blog so pictures will be coming soon!

-two-
We got to meet our Godson Sean! Jackie and Sean were visiting family in Florida and made a trip to see us. Sean is just over a year old and it was so special to meet him for the first time! He gave us a lot of smiles and we really enjoyed our visit together! We wish they lived closer!

-three-
I am always in the mood to bake and the other week I tried out a new recipe for granola bars from Ina Garten. They were delicious and I even froze some in the freezer and they kept well. I love to try new recipes and I'll definitely make these again.

-four-
Tyler's mom visited us this past weekend! It was such a blessing to have her here and James enjoyed some good time with Grandma Barb because she watched him while Tyler and I went out on a date! Tyler took me to Bice Restaurant at the Loews Portofino Bay and we enjoyed a delicious Italian dinner! We're already planning our next date!
