Snapshots: A Day in the Life of James (50)

We are counting down the days until James turns one! We can't believe how fast this past year has gone. James continues to entertain us all day long. We love how he'll come up and put his head on our lap and snuggle (making snuggle sounds!) and when he sees Frannie he talks to her in a higher pitch of cooing. He finds random things hilarious...when I was trying to kill a wasp inside he burst out laughing and the other day when I was mopping he cracked up too. Of course daddy can make him laugh all the time...those two crazy guys! We love you James!

Summer Pool Time

Yesterday we had a ton of fun playing outside. James enjoyed his pool and we got a few cute pictures!

He enjoyed climbing in and out of the pool and after a few face plants he got pretty good at it.

Daddy was working outside in the yard (and keeping an eye on the golf tournament) and we enjoyed keeping him company.

5 Year Anniversary

On Friday we celebrated our five year wedding anniversary! These past five years have been such an adventure and we've loved every day together. To celebrate we went to the zoo and then Tyler and I had a dinner date.
Family time at the zoo
Look at James adoring his daddy...he doesn''t know there is a lion in the background!
Taking a moment to look at the macaws
It was a very hot day at the zoo but we made the most of it and we look forward to going back when James gets older and can enjoy it more!

We had a delicious dinner at Central downtown. We had a cheese plate for an appetizer and I even tried rabbit...Tyler ended up eating it all. But I was okay with that!
Tyler had steak and fries and I had gnocchi with a pesto sauce.
For dessert we shared a snickers bar that was a little too small....I could have eaten a couple but maybe it was a good thing I didn't.

We are so thankful for our marriage and can't wait to see how the Lord continues to bless us in the upcoming years!

We are getting settled after our travels home from South Dakota and Nebraska.  We miss everyone but it's good to be home. James has another tooth coming in on the bottom and has been a little fussy, but has still been our happy little buddy. He's almost one year old...we can't believe how fast this year has gone!

South Dakota

Enjoying a stop at Pactola Lake before going to Keystone
It's been a dream of mine to go back to the Black Hills for the last few years. I can't believe it was six years ago that Tyler and I went...it was the summer before we got married and we had a blast. So it was an overdue trip this summer and we are so thankful that we were able to go! Here are a few more pictures from our week with family in the Hills!
