Summer 2017: Family Time

This past summer was a whirlwind of adventures! Of course, that makes sense because we are Rossers! I didn't think we could trump last summer (the arrival of Mr. Johnny, Lincoln trip, going to Notre Dame, and running VBS) but this summer we decided to move...and start two new jobs...and put James in preschool...and sell our house...so here is the start of our summer adventures!

James, John, and I started out our summer by visiting family in Colorado and South Dakota. We had a blast. The boys enjoyed every minute of being with their cousins! We flew to CO and after spending a couple days we drove with mom and dad to the Black Hills and Ash and Alex and the boys joined us there.
A happy start to the trip!
Needed a minute out of the car!

Johnny got to meet his great-grandma and great-grandpa! We enjoyed many peaceful and playful moments in their backyard! With some ice cream treats!

I was very thankful for the time with Nancy and all of her wisdom and fun teaching ideas she shared with me! She took Ashley and I to her classroom and I only wish we lived closer!!

James and I made memories having "sleepovers" and sharing the same room. James would say, "Mom, you still there?" I don't know how many times...haha
5 am cuddles
We enjoyed swimming, a trolley ride, and a fishing and swimming trip to the lake. Every day was packed full and we enjoyed every minute of the time with family!
Finally caught the trolley!

Johnny was a little tired!

Ready!
Set!
Go!

Happy 4th of July!

Learning to fish with Uncle Alex

Loves the water...a little too much!

Our Vacation Home

This post is three months overdue but definitely worth sharing still! Last April we went into our week of vacation with Tyler's parents down to Naples with some apprehensions. A vacation with the boys? How is that going to work? Tyler's parents were gracious to invite us on their vacation and the last time we were in Naples was a month before James was born. So we had memories of long walks on the beach, swimming in the pool, taking naps, enjoying sitting down at dinner (remember being able to do that? haha.) But we decided to give it a try and the week surprised us! We all had a blast. We enjoyed wonderful family time and had the joy of experiencing a vacation through the eyes of two little ones. So here is a look back at our vacation!

Thanks to Daniel Tiger and Paw Patrol we had some help in the car!
We loaded up on toys from the Dollar Store for the car ride!
James enjoyed our "vacation home" as he called it. His favorite part was the elevator rides and certain floors had candy which made it even more fun. We rode the elevator several times a day.
Our first trip to the beach was on Easter Sunday after Mass before we went to a delicious brunch. It was John's second trip (he came to Naples with us last August) but James' first trip to the beach.

James liked it more than John!

Easter brunch was a memory. There was a children's buffet and the Easter bunny made several appearances.

How adorable is this? Buffet at child's level!

After brunch we went back to the condo for naps and then an Easter egg hunt.
The whole family helping!

Happy guy as usual
We spent the rest of the week going to the beach, swimming, and enjoying time with Pop-Pop and GrandMommy!

Oh, and there was an emergency visit for little Johnny...
He pushed his chair over and hit his head and we were worried about a possible concussion but thankfully everything was fine. He was a champ!

James had fun at the beach collecting sea shells and making towers. John wasn't sure what to do with all the sand.

Overall we had a wonderful time! We had no idea when we were there that we would be moving so close to our "vacation home" this summer! We look forward to many more trips to the beach with our buddies!
