James has his first tooth! It started popping through a few days ago and it's been making him a little extra fussy and not sleeping as well. He also rolled over from his back to his front although it's still pretty rare. We are so thankful for our happy healthy son!

Safari Adventure

Last Saturday we went to Animal Kingdom and went on the safari adventure. It was about a 20 minute ride through miles of landscape that made us feel like we were in Africa! We saw dozens of exotic animals and even though James wasn't too impressed (he slept through most of it) we thought it was really awesome! Here are some of the animals we saw.

We ended the trip to Animal Kingdom by going to Expedition Everest, the ride I was most excited about. Until I realized it was a roller coaster. I don't like roller coasters (something I found out after I went on the Space Mountain ride at Magic Kingdom...) so I let Tyler enjoy himself but I did get a picture in front of the ride. Ever since I wrote an informative speech about Mount Everest in high school it's been a dream of mine to hike to base camp! But for now this will do.

 

Snapshots: A Week in the Life of James (24)

Everyday is an adventure with James! He is enjoying solid foods and so far has tried pumpkin, bananas, avocado, oatmeal cereal, and carrots.  His new favorite trick is rolling over from his front to his back! This past week we have been sleep coaching James to help him sleep longer for naps and to go down easier both at nap time and bedtime. So far we've seen a lot of progress and for the last two days he's taken one long nap in the afternoon!

Last week we got the gift of spending a few days in Dallas and it was such a joy to have some of Tyler's family meet James! We were there for Grandmother's 92nd birthday and really enjoyed spending time with her! James was very popular, as always, and here are some pictures of him with our family and friends (thanks to Tyler's dad who took all the pictures!)

James's First Christmas

It was such a blessing to be in Montgomery for Christmas break! We enjoyed the cooler weather (much cooler than Florida but still nice and warm compared to Nebraska!) and had our fill of watching football and Hallmark Christmas movies. We all enjoyed James' first Christmas and got plenty of pictures to share memories with him when he gets older!

Snapshots: A Week in the Life of James (22)

Wow! James is 5 months old! What a joy he is to us and he continues to bless us with so many smiles and laughs everyday! This week we welcomed in a new year, went to SEEK20515 in Nashville where we got to see a lot of friends, and went to Dallas to help Tyler's Grandmother celebrate her 92nd birthday. We've been busy and have a lot to be thankful for!
